Reflection

The biggest thing I would take from the class is how to take and notice patterns in nature. I struggled with the walking part of it. My favorite trip was the trip to the beach because I saw more patterns in nature.

Day 10: Mt. View Cemetary

Today we went to a Cemetery and it felt dead. These are some pictures I took from the cemetery Check them out.
This s a flower I found while the priest was doing confessions and i walked in quiet and snapped a picture
This is a flower that I took in the cremetory. It was cool so, I took a picture of it.

Day 9: G.G Park

Today, we went to the city and walked through Golden Gate park. I took some pictures while walking through G.G park. Here are some pictures from my walk.
This is just a picture of moss, but the way the moss has formed is interesting because it look like dirt but it isn't. This is why i chose this picture. The foam on the water is interesting because the water is moving but not the foam. And it looks like a Hawk. These leaves all have the same pattern, the only difference is the size. other than that they are self similar. This suppose to be a tree. This is interesting the tree is all twisted up, well it looks like a giant nature knot. and that is why I chose this picture.

Day 8: Dimond Canyon

Today, we went through Diamond canyon. It was pretty interesting, i mean you see different types of plant life throughout the canyon. Here are some pictures of our day.
I took a picture of this because I liked the way that the leaves look like paw prints. also, the way each leaf is different from another.
In this picture, there is a leaf. the pattern is that the branches of the leaf keep branching out as the branches get bigger. Basically, it iterates itself to make this big leaf.
This is just a picture of water, but the way the water ripples is complex. I chose this picture because it was interesting.
This is a picture of a simple leaf, but if you look closer you see the blood lines of the leaf breaking off into different smaller branches.

There is some of the pictures I took during my walk through Diamond Canyon, hope you enjoyed them.

Day 7: Patterns in Milk + Cellular automata

Today, we didn't go anywhere because it was a minimum day so, we studied science. and here are some pictures of are day.
This is milk with food coloring in it. Not very interesting yet.
This is afterwords, see all the mess, but if you look closely at the green it sort of forms a snake.
This is a picture I took using a program called Golly, All it is, is a simple formula that made a triangle then, I got creative and drew lines everywhere and made this.

Day 6: SF ferry + fountains

Today, we went on the ferry to SF and took some pictures of the patterns we see all the way there. Here are some pictures, check them out.
You see the pattern that the water makes after the ferry passes through. It is interesting isn't it? I chose the picture because there is a design there but, you have to look very hard.
I chose the picture because the water looks like circles and squares falling down too. This picture is very interesting because of the water patterns.
The picture has a rainbow in there because I caught it before the water and the sun no longer touched each other. It is interesting to me on how the sun and water combine to make the different colors.
Look inside of this plant and what do you see. I chose this picture because it shows that even though you look past one leaf you'll see the same look on the other side.

Day 5: Leona Gorge + Mandlebrot Set

Today, we went to Leona Gorge. It was pretty because we saw a whole bunch of different plants and trees. There was a very old tree that is twisted up, so the loggers didn't cut it down because there would be no good boards out of it. so, after that being said, check out these pictures.
This plants is how you say regular, in a way, because of the look of it, but I chose this picture because of it's originality and it looks like it has a strong skeleton. And all the leaves have different designs of the same thing.
This is the tree that is the oldest tree to stand in the East Bay. The only reason that the tree stands is because the body of the tree is all twisted up. I chose this picture because of the uniqueness of the the tree and it being so old and standing proudly.
I chose this picture because it is young and just starting life, in my opinion, the fern represents a child that is just learning how to stand for itself. it is simple and regular in it's design in nature.
To everyone else this just might only be a weed, but it is a design in nature that makes the plant grow like it is. It's funny because it looks like it is iterating itself.
